High School Internship Program

What is the High School Internship Program?

This unpaid internship helps high school students work toward the 100 required hours of experience needed to qualify as a Respite Provider once they turn 16. Interns will support children with autism and gain valuable experience under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), client families, or other direct service providers.
Perfect for students interested in psychology, education, social work, or healthcare.

What You´ll Be Doing?

  1. Provide one-on-one support and guidance

  2. Assist with daily living activities

  3. Create and plan fun, structured activities

  4. Keep daily contact logs and notes (submitted same day)

  5. Research free/inexpensive events appropriate for children with autism

Program Overview

Where you´ll work

Interns will support children in both the client’s home and local community settings, helping with daily routines, activities, and social outings in real-world environments.

Minimum Requirements

Must be at least 14 years of age Provide at least 2 personal references (one of which must be from a current or previous teacher).
